Obama: 'Do something big and meaningful'

President Barack Obama took to the op-ed pages of USA Today Friday to tout his grand bargain debt ceiling plan.

Seeking to appeal to independent voters, Obama laid out what he’s been saying for weeks: That he’s open to spending cuts on defense and health care entitlement programs more liberal Democrats are seeking to block, while reiterating his demand that Republicans agree to new tax revenues.
