Boehner praises Bachmann

Washington (CNN) – House Speaker John Boehner, who has repeatedly declined to weigh in on the 2012 Republican presidential field, praised on Tuesday Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota), who officially joined the race during Monday night's GOP debate in New Hampshire.

"I think she did a really good job last night," Boehner said when asked about Bachmann's performance in the CNN debate. "I think she is a bright member of our caucus. It's one of the reasons why I appointed her to the intelligence committee."
