New MSNBC Talking Head: Michael Steele
(Newser) – The unemployment rate just went down a bit: Michael Steele, the former chair of the Republican National Committee who stepped down in January, has signed onto MSNBC as a regular commentator. Steele was rumored to be in talks with CNN and Fox, but has also made several guest appearances on Rachel Maddow's show. “It’s an honor to contribute and engage in the dialogue on MSNBC,” Steele says in a statement.

“I look forward to engaging a diverse audience to share insights and analysis about the people, issues, and events shaping America’s future. I’m sure our discussions will be both informative and a bit spirited!” Steele continued. According to the Baltimore Sun, MSNBC's president said of his newest commentator, “His strong voice and opinions will be a great addition to all of our programs."
