Money flows at end of Idaho congressional race

Republican challenger Raul Labrador raised about $60,500 in the final reporting period before the Nov. 2 election, nearly reaching 1st District Democratic Rep. Walt Minnick’s $61,300. But financial parity lasted only for the Oct. 1-13 report. Since then, Minnick has raised 2› times Labrador’s take in large contributions that must be reported within 48 hours in the campaign season’s closing days.

Overall, Minnick had raised $2.5 million and spent $2.2 million through Oct. 13. He had $373,000 in cash. Labrador raised $503,000 and spent $520,000. He reported having $84,000 in cash on Oct. 13.

Minnick’s contributions reported under the 48-hour rule were $92,300 between Oct. 15 and Tuesday. Labrador raised $36,800.
