Vice President Kamala Harris seems to think that black men don’t pay their bills and they sit around barbershops smoking marijuana.
No wonder she’s having a big problem attracting men to her campaign. And if the numbers are to be believed, Donald Trump could make history by getting more black male voters than any other Republican president in history.
NPR reports that a recent NAACP poll found one in four blacks under the age of 50 now support Trump over Harris.
The New York Times published a story several days ago: “Black Voters Drift From Democrats, Imperiling Harris Bid.”
The tidal wave of blacks that traditionally vote Democrat may not be there in November.
About 15 percent of black likely voters said they plan to vote for Trump – that’s a six-point increase from four years ago.
And Democrats are at wits end – trying to figure out how to stop black men from leaving the party.
Not even Barack Obama can help. He tried – sternly lecturing young black men for refusing to back Kamala. But young black men don’t like to be lectured about fighting for the hood by a man who owns four mansions – one that’s worth as much as $30 million.
Remember what Joe Biden said back on the campaign trail in 2020: “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black."
Well, that sort of race-based pandering ain’t working – not this time around. The jig is up.
So, Harris has resorted to offering black men an old-fashioned bribe.
Her campaign announced this week an Opportunity Agenda For Black Men. That’s the official title. She wants to give 1 million black men a fully forgivable $20,000 loan to black business owners.
White men would not be eligible. Neither would Hispanics or Asian men.
Imagine how the media would respond if President Trump announced an initiative to create an opportunity agenda for white men.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the entire point of the Civil Rights movement was to judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
And that brings me back to my argument that Kamala seems to think that American black men just sit around the barber shop, smoking pot and don’t pay their bills. That’s the essence of her plan. And her opinion of black men is offensive, bigoted and downright racist.
But what black men in America want is the same thing white men in America want. And Hispanic Men and Asian men. We want the opportunity to live the American dream. To get a good job. To buy a house. To provide for our families and raise our kids in safe neighborhoods.
That never happened during Obama’s time in office. And it never happened in Joe Biden’s time in office.
The Times reports that 40 percent of black voters under 30 say the Republican Party was more likely to follow through on its campaign promises than Democrats.
LaPage Drake – a voter from Cedar Hill, Texas, said the Democrats treat blacks like they are sweeping table scraps off the table for a trained dog.
He dismissed accusations that Trump is a racist – saying ultimately – the former president is for America.
It turns out the only person who had the backs of black men in this country was a blue-collar billionaire named Donald J. Trump.
