Was Pelosi Ripping Up Trump’s Speech or a Copy of the Constitution?

The general consensus across the fruited plain is that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi behaved like a petulant child during the State of the Union address.

She cut short President Trump's introduction and shuffled a stack of papers during his remarks. She also made bizarre facial expressions -- the kind a person would make if they were either gnawing on a side of beef or trying to adjust their dentures.

But even worse was her behavior immediately following the president's remarks when she grabbed her copy of the speech and commenced to tearing it up -- on live television.

“I was not sure she was ripping up the speech or ripping up the Constitution,” Vice President Mike Pence said on Fox & Friends. “The contrast here was a president who spent an hour and a half making a speech about America and Nancy Pelosi, in the final moments, tried to make it about her and I think the American people see through it and see through the pettiness and see through the politics.”

Pelosi remains unapologetic for her childish temper tantrum.

"Madame Speaker, what did you think of President Trump's speech tonight," a reporter asked.

"I tore it up," she replied - explaining to another reporter "it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives."

I shudder to imagine what alternative Speaker Pelosi might have considered.

“It was such a dirty speech," she told an ABC News reporter.

A dirty speech?

That speech saluted a 100-year-old Tuskegee airman and Americans who had been killed on American soil by illegal alien invaders. That speech honored a single mom and her young daughter hoping to enroll in a better school. That speech reunited an American servicemember with his family. That speech celebrated America.

"There were names in there of people who have died. American citizens who have died. I think that was really disrespectful but also super unsophisticated and not like her," said Fox News Channel's Dana Perino.

Sadly, while Speaker Pelosi's behavior was unbecoming for a civilized member of society, it was pretty much what we've come to expect from those infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome.
