Two other nuggets from my governors' story that didn't make it into the piece, but that I didn't want to leave on the cutting room floor:

— Iowa Gov Terry Branstad made clear his preference for a governor and unease about the prospect of Bachmann as nominee, but he also offered some praise for one of his RGA colleagues that will make tails wag in Austin.
