Bibi Derangement Syndrome

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

Fifteen years ago, none of us would have imagined confused men invading women’s sports and spaces, and that such confused men would demand the right to parade their madness in courts, businesses, and public spaces. None of us could have foreseen critical race theory (i.e., discrimination) as the dominant ideology not just in colleges, but also in boardrooms and courtrooms.

Yet all of these detrimental corruptions metastasized across the United States during that time. Conservatives had to barge into the fray and change the discussion. We had to explain the plain and simple obvious to a public and a culture that had been willing to accommodate such overt madness and destruction.

The same shock overtakes most of us in the face of rising anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism from activists, commentators, and politicians on the right. The left doesn’t believe in two sexes, and some of these strange fringe-actors on the right don’t recognize military allies when they see them. They call tragic warfare in urban areas “genocide,” and they smear recognition of a strong Middle Eastern partner in the preservation of Western values as “Israel First.”

With that out of the way, it comes as no surprise that the dissident right, or rather the “retard right” per Josh Hammer, goes to great lengths to lie about Israel as the left lies about basic biology. In their latest flailing rant against the Jewish State, the Anti-Zionist (read, Anti-Semitic, and thus Pro-Marxist) cohorts on social media went hard and fast after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on March 20, 2026.

Before I had a chance to digest what the prime minister said, I saw comments and headlines across social media with the following slant:

“Bibi said something mean about Jesus!”

“He said that there is no difference between Jesus and Genghis Khan!”

“You see, you silly Christian Zionists! You have a brain virus that blinds you from seeing the truth. The Jews hate Christ. They have no respect for our Savior!”

“We say, Christ is King,” and the Jews declare that He is no better than a raging, megalomaniacal war lord!”

Yeah, yeah, yeah … Sure, Jan.

I have learned that when the “Next Big Headline” comes out claiming that Israel or Netanyahu or “The Jews” did something really, really bad, or when some podcaster posts a statement or plays a clip to frame Israel or the Israeli government in a negative light, all of us have ponder whatever they say with great skepticism, and very like reject it entirely with greater cynicism.

Here’s the snippet from Netanyahu’s speech that turned the anti-Zionist cult up 10 degrees:

"Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. If you are strong enough, ruthless enough, and powerful enough, evil will overcome good."

What did Netanyahu say, in full, however? Context is key, and if you take a text out of its context, you are left with a con – and it’s a con which the anti-Zionist, read pro-Islamist dissident social media universe (especially on the right) is desperate to push.

Granted, it seemed strange for him to mention the Savior of the World in the same sentence as one of mankind’s greatest mass murderers, so I was concerned. The Times of Israel published the entire transcript of Netanyahu’s speech in question. I knew that I would have to read the whole thing for myself before reaching (not jumping to) conclusions about the prime minister’s remarks.

Here’s the full context of the Jesus-Genghis Khan statement:

You know, if people want to be naive, then they don’t see the kind of world we’re living in. In this world, it’s not enough to be moral. It’s not enough to be just. It’s not enough to be right. You know, one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, someone that I admire a lot, was the historian Will Durant. Now, he wrote many volumes. I read most of them. He also wrote The Lessons of History, a very brief, 100-page book, in which he said, well, history proves that, unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good. Aggression will overcome moderation.

Black and white, clear as crystal: Netanyahu quoted Will Durant, a famous historian who, along with his wife Ariel, wrote a broad world history compendium. Durant was Catholic, by the way. Will the “Christ is King (Because I Hate Jews)” crowd start calling for the historian’s cancellation?

Durant’s remarks are prescient and accurate, although cynical and disconcerting, and he didn’t come to those conclusions lightly. Research and experience confirm that the world doesn’t play fair, and only might makes right if the right doesn’t have the might to fight back. Machiavelli declared that the basis of every state is good laws … and good arms. You can’t win an argument if the other guy shoots you first. Frederick the Great argued that diplomacy without weapons is like music without instruments. You can’t make the other side agree to your terms, or at least sit at the table, if they think they can invade you and make you obey first.

Ancient Roman author Vegetius gave the pithiest statement on the matter: Si vis pacem para bellum: If you want peace, prepare for war. President Trump has embodied this principle to great effect. The world is full of bad actors who want to harm our country. Asking nicely never works. Venezuela’s Maduro was a bad dude, but only America might be able to invade the country quickly and effectively, arrest the international creep, and bring him to justice in American courts.

American power has forced Iran into a corner, losing time, space, and allies as the Islamic regime struggles to stay afloat in the conflict. We have the weapons to blow up their undergrown nuclear facilities. Asking Iran to stop and paying them to refrain didn’t stop the nuclear proliferation. The last argument of kings—warfare—forced Iran to stop plotting global destruction. Even Russia and China have bailed on their erstwhile Islamic ally following Operation Epic Fury. Why? They recognize the superior firepower of the United States’ moral agency.

As Netanyahu sagely pointed out, it’s a naïve notion that we can make the world a better place without some degree of force. Correction: Will Durant articulated the axiom of political life, and Netanyahu promoted it.

On another note, Netanyahu should be praised. Despite his unaffiliated religious sentiments, the Israeli prime minister recognized that Jesus is the greatest Man who ever lived, and he posited Christ as the antithesis to the most evil man who ever lived, if we are calculating the sheer number of deaths by the Mongol warlord’s blade.

Another question remains:

Why would the anti-Bibi, anti-Israeli, anti-Zionist, anti-Semitic detractors ignore the whole passage? How could they have been so stupid?

Or rather, how could they not have been so duplicitous?

And that’s the point.

By now, it’s evident that truth is no obstacle when it comes to hatred of Israel, just as truth has not stopped the LGBT mafia from its abuses, persecutions, and predations against those who disagree.

The answer to lies is truth. Only the proper use of force can stop the violence.
