The Men Biden Invited to America

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

In 2019, then-candidate for president Joe Biden stood on the Democratic debate stage and proclaimed his position on unlimited illegal immigration.

"You should come," Biden said. "They [illegal immigrants] deserve to be heard."

This wasn't a one-off as Biden repeated his position during a campaign stop in Des Moines, Iowa.

"We could afford to take in a heartbeat another two million," Biden said.

People were listening. Three years later, and with President Biden in the Oval Office, more than 10 million individuals have poured into the country – the majority of them military-aged men fraudulently claiming asylum. On day one of his first term, Biden repealed former President Donald Trump's emergency declaration, paused deportations, defunded the border wall and terminated the "Remain in Mexico" policy.

One of the men who took Biden up on his offer to "be heard" was Venezuelan national Jose Antonio Ibarra. Ibarra illegally crossed the border in 2022, claimed "asylum" and made his way to New York City on a taxpayer-funded ticket. After committing a number of crimes there, where he was easily let off by leftist District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Ibarra made his way to Georgia.

On the morning of February 22, 2024, 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley went out for a typical run on a route she had traveled many times. Riley told people she went into the medical field because being a nurse "helps people get better and it looks very fun to help people. "

Her dreams of helping others were cut short when Ibarra allegedly smashed her skull in so violently, she was severely disfigured. He's finally locked up without bond and charged with her murder.

But Ibarra wasn't the only one who listened to Biden's invitation.

"An illegal immigrant from El Salvador who faced deportation orders and had run-ins with the law has been charged with murdering a 2-year-old Maryland boy caught in a shootout while in a park with his teenage mom," the New York Post reports. "Nilson Granados-Trejo, 25, was charged Monday with first- and second-degree murder."

"Police in Kenner, Louisiana took a 19-year-old Honduran illegal immigrant into custody Tuesday after he allegedly raped a minor," ABC 15 News reports. "Angel Matias Castellanos-Orellana was arrested on charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery, first-degree rape and aggravated assault. He was a suspect in the rape and assault of a 14-year-old girl which occurred last week."

These instances of heinous crimes are seemingly endless. The question now is, how many of these types of illegal alien criminals are prowling American streets?

"To put this into context, all one must do is look at CBP's own data that shows total enforcement actions in FY20 was approximately 646,000. The next full year under Biden we tripled that number to 1.9 million followed the next year with 2.7 million and then in FY23, 3.2 million," former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan recently testified to Congress. "When you have those kinds of encounters, it overwhelms the Border Patrol to the point where they have pulled up to 100% of agents off patrol to come in and process these large groups, which leaves hundreds of miles of border with no security and not a single agent on watch."

Biden invited these criminals here, and now he wants Americans to believe he had the door closed the entire time. Young people are paying the price with their lives. Like a coward, Biden won't say the names of the victims who should be alive today. Instead, he's focused on locking up a permanent Democratic majority by turning illegal immigrants into voters.
