Showing How the Flood of ‘Trump Is a Nazi!’ Reports Have Nothing to Do With His Comments

Some clarity is required right at the start here. Okay, yes - members of the media calling Trump a “Nazi” is nothing new. That accusation has been in play for eight years now, emerging almost instantly the day he decided he was no longer a Democrat and choosing to run for the GOP nomination in 2015. We know the media hurls the Nazi/Fascist/Hitler declarations at Republicans more freely than rice flung after a wedding. So, what exactly is new on this accusatory front?

Over the past few weeks it has been a new flood of journos and pundits who have been braying loudly that Trump is speaking like Hitler and will deliver unrealized atrocities upon this nation if he manages to be reelected. This new fussilade derives from his speech given on Veterens Day, when he delivered invective against forces within this country. In it, Trump used a word - one word - that all of the media has attached to, running to the cameras and laptops to wail about his Hitlerian desires.

Trump referred to groups within America as “vermin”. This was also a word Hitler was known to have used towards the Jewish people. The press wants to pretend that over the course of a century no one else has ever invoked that word, and it is reserved in solitary fashion for Goebels-like hate speeches. The hysteria seen in the media reactions to this have been nothing short of hilarious.

Claire McCaskill has declared that Trump will be “even more dangerous than Hitler,” her ridiculousness amplified as she went on the declare all of the Hitler-like actions Trump is not doing. Joe Scarborough came out with his own Hitler blather, stipulating that Trump will imprison whomever he chooses and then execute them. Joe’s proof of this? “Just look at his past.” Well Joe, we can, and we see no evidence of Trump doing…what Joe Biden is actually doing now.

Our favorite however comes from Jen Psaki. The converted White House operative was speaking with ABC News fixture Jonathan Karl, who has a new non-partisan anti-Trump book for sale. They were discussing Trump’s “vermin” usage, and Jen comes to this daft conclusion: She says he’s just like Hitler, though she’s not saying he’s a Nazi.

The behavior on display is almost a sense of excitement and relief from these trolling journalists. After years of insistance that he is a Nazi authoritarian, Donald has finally given them a shred of evidence! It is not through any type of true authoritarian action, but he used that one word, so they are running with it while shaking a hand over their heads. The desire is palpable.

To see what the press is desperately doing here we first need to show the subversion. In just about every single report on Trump’s use of “vermin”, it is said that he was referring to his political “opponents”. What has been rarely seen is the press delivering Trump’s full comment, and this reveals everything. Trump was not using that term in reference to Biden, to Democrats, or those even running against him. The portion of his speech involved him referencing those factions who are working against the better interests of the nation.

“We will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left-wing thugs that live like vermin within the confines of this country. The threat from outside this country is far less sinister, dangerous, and grave than the threat from within.”

So what makes Trump such a Nazi danger is…his opposition to that very faction?! In summation: The press is declaring Trump to be a fascist threat because he has pledged to root out the threat of fascism. This is the desperate level they are stooping to, and it is being done for a reason - and it has nothing to do with what Trump said.

There are two harsh realities the press is facing that leads to this strained and desperate insistance currently on display.  The first is the outbreak of antisemitism witnessed across the country. In the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas it has become fashionable to be openly hostile to the Jewish factions, and the originations of this have been uncomfortable.

Anti-Jewish rhetoric and actions have sprung up on college campuses, at rallies in Blue cities, and it has even been seen in Hollywood and also in Congress. All of these are traditional strongholds of the Democrats. It has become so bad that none other than Chuck Schumer had to come forward and decry what he is seeing coming from inside their own house. The press, as a reaction, is in need of deflecting away from this reality, straining to remind everyone, “Hey - hey, remember – Trump is actually the Nazi!!!”

The other inspiration for this level of panic is the recent polling that has shown Biden slipping significantly behind Trump with voters. While we are a year out from the election the tidal shift is no less significant. One NBC poll in particular spells out the hysteria. Biden has hit new lows in general approval, he is 17 points underwater, and now Trump has passed him by two points overall. Biden has lost a ton of ground with independents, as they disapprove at a 2-1 ratio, and younger voters are turning their backs, as they are choosing Trump at an even higher rate.

In the face of all of this there is little else to do if you are a journalist; “Trump is a Nazi!” Just ignore the fact that what they hold up as evidence is Trump’s pledge to root out the Nazi factions.
