The Jihadi Scum Living Among Us

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

The October 7 terror attacks shocked the world with the barbarity inflicted upon innocent civilians by Hamas. In a coordinated attack by land, sea, and air, 1,000 terrorists stormed the Gaza border, breaching it at multiple points, and were able to engage in a campaign of carnage for which there are no words to describe. It was an hours-long campaign of rape, murder, and mayhem. Scores more were kidnapped. Babies were found beheaded and burned, and entire families were slaughtered. Condemnation shouldn't have been a debate; instead, for many liberals in America and abroad, these acts were justified.

Across the country, there were pro-Hamas, "kill all the Jews" rallies, loaded with folks who should be placed under FBI surveillance. Sadly, the FBI is compromised right now—too busy chasing the phantom white supremacist threat to the country, along with Trump supporters who might have walked around the Capitol Building on January 6. We had insane terrorists spewing hate at Jews and Israel, even declaring that the numerous atrocities committed by Hamas were fake news.

On "Real Time with Bill Maher," the comedian was skeptical about the panel discussion, which didn't go off the rails, regarding whether this was a small minority of folks. Matt Duss, a former foreign policy adviser to Bernie Sanders, and James Kirchick, a writer for Tablet Magazine, seem to think this was a vocal but small minority. The Times Square terrorist rally was terrible enough. Still, UNC, UVA, Harvard, and other prominent institutions seemed to tolerate or remain silent regarding the genocidal tendencies of these radical Muslim extremists living among us. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman stopped donating to the University of Pennsylvania over this flap.

There were even leaflets for an "intifada funraver," a gross display mocking the music festival where 260 people were raped and murdered by Hamas at the outset of their attack. Hamas terrorists paraglided into the festival. These people displayed swastikas at the rally in Times Square. These are the folks who are likely to commit acts of terrorism, and it's disturbing that so many of these radicals are awash in the United States. Importing legions of Afghan refugees who weren't adequately vetted also increases the national security risk and the numerous hits on the terror watch list we're seeing at the southern border.

It just takes one cell to carry out a catastrophic terror attack. We don't have the political leadership that understands the threat right now. The left is twisting itself into knots, trying to denounce Hamas' atrocities while also seeking to avoid angering their Palestinian supporters. It's one of the other because this is a choice between good and evil. There is no defense for the raping, murder, and beheading of children. This shouldn't be an academic exercise or the equally abysmal "two sides" approach. There are no two sides. Israel has the moral high ground, as they always have, and Hamas is a terrorist organization. Not hard. One intentionally murdered, raped, and kidnapped innocent civilians, while the other goes out of its way to minimize such casualties. Hamas is trapping their people for propaganda purposes. This isn't about the so-called occupation. It's about the far-left, Hamas, and their supporters wanting to kill Jews. And there's a lot of that jihadi trash living in America. We must find, watch, and eventually detain them because we all know they're planning acts of terror.
