OPINION

RFK, Jr. Apparently Reads Townhall

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

I’m not a big fan of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.  He still has a (D) after his name, and he will have to remove that stain before I get anywhere near his bandwagon.  But still, he has said some good things.  I know he has because he has made a lot of Democrats mad at him and has caused some left-wing big tech social media bigots to censor him, which means he leaves the reservation occasionally, which is the biggest verboten of all to Leftists today.  Any tiny divergence from orthodoxy is heresy; thinking for oneself and speaking freely is absolutely not tolerated by the “tolerant,” “inclusive” crowd.  He could get shot for that.  He would be wise to acquaint himself with Leftist history.

Kennedy appears to be an avid reader of TownHall.  I say that because he said something recently that several columnists on here have shouted from a rooftop a dozen times.  I know I have.  RFK, Jr. so accurately repeated, “A government that can censor its critics has a license for every atrocity.”  I just wrote a series of articles that basically had that as one of its major themes (my “The Left’s Culture of Death '' series, which, not surprisingly, caused all the Leftists who comment here to help with pain and indignation.  As the old saying goes, “the hit hound howls.”)  Mass murdering Chinese mobster Mao Zedong (the “hero” of my “Left’s Culture of Death '' saga) certainly knew about “censorship”—shut up or die (usually both).  That is exactly what Mao’s Leftist government was all about:  silencing all opposition, one way or another.  Those who survived got the message, and people in China STILL get it.  Too many Americans don’t—yet.  But go visit China.  Walk down any street there carrying a “F**K XI JINPING!” sign and see how far you get.  One-tenth of a block, if you do it at midnight, not that far during the day.  Zap!  Disappear.  For good.  Probably without half of your bodily organs.  Leftism.

It’s nice to see a Democrat—even one as heretical as RFK, Jr.—getting the point.  He’s been censored for his comments on vaccines, etc., as such opinions absolutely cannot be abided in Leftist circles.  But do look more closely at what he said:  “A government that can censor its critics HAS LICENSE FOR EVERY ATTROCITY '' (emphasis here is mine).  Thank you, Mr. Kennedy, for confirming everything I (and other conservatives) have been writing ever since Joe Biden and his DOJ started persecuting their political opposition.  You Democrats who are reading this, please explain why RFK is wrong.  He’s one of yours.  Unless you are ready to throw him under the bus, which you will do before you ever give up your obnoxious, totalitarian garbage dogma.  You are welcome to join the Republican Party, Mr. Kennedy, although I would rather you stay a Democrat a while longer and give them fits.  Since you are a Democrat, it’s possible some of the more honest members of your Party will listen to you and take note where they would simply ignore (and have ignored) any Republican who has been...shouting the same thing from the rooftops.

“...a license for every atrocity.”  Yes.  Lenin anyone?  Stalin anyone?  Mao anyone?  Castro anyone?  The Kims, anyone?  Every Leftist government and dictator in the past 250 years, anyone?  Mr. Kennedy, whether he knows it or not, does know a little history.  Or at least he has accidentally stumbled upon it.

Give the government the right to censor its opposition on social media (or elsewhere), and they have “a license for every atrocity.”  That is not just an opinion expressed by a politician seeking attention.  It is the absolute truth of history (read my series on the Left’s culture of death again for proof—or any non-Marxist history of a 20th-century Leftist totalitarian regime).  Since bullets cost money and blood is messy to clean up, if Leftists can silence the obstructionists by threatening, intimidating, ignoring, arresting, or denying them access to media outlets, they will do that first.  Mr. Kennedy has been subjected to some of the above.  Donald Trump certainly has.  The key—and historical reality—to Kennedy’s statement is “every atrocity.”  Leftists have no morality, no respect for property rights (like free speech), or human life.  They believe in one thing—power.  For themselves.  Anybody who hinders their march to that goal—or dissents when they have it—has, or will, suffer any or “every atrocity” necessary to censor them.

I’m not sure Mr. Kennedy understood the full implications of what he said.  But I do.  History tells me what the implications of what he said are.  And for all you Leftists who want to run to the “Comments” section and say, “Democrats will never do that!”, you will have to explain two things:  one, WHY they won’t do it (if they get totalitarian power) since Leftists have done it everywhere they have gained such power, and two, what makes Democratic Party Leftists different from every other Leftist of the last 200+ years.  Pardon me if I trust history until I get absolute proof Democrats are a “different kind” of Leftist.

I’d like to ask Mr. Kennedy, privately, if he believes his “every atrocity” would include the American government doing what other governments who have practiced the sort of censorship he has faced have done, viz., permanently silencing their opposition with a bullet to the brain.  Perhaps he would say, “No, the Democrats won’t ever do that,” which would be a contradiction of his own statement.  I really doubt Mr. Kennedy has thoroughly thought through the logical implications of what he said (the probable “ignorance of history” thing).  But, then again, maybe he DOES understand perfectly well what his words imply, and he is trying to warn the American people, as so many Townhall columnists have tried, of the dangers of totalitarian government.  I hope people will understand him.

If his message isn’t censored.
