When you see some of the political class lies, you get used to it. Then there are those who do nothing but lie and spew the bile they claim to detest in order to maintain their grip on power – the Adam Schiffs and AOCs of the world – there’s a special place in hell for them. Then there is Hakeem Jeffries, who picked up the mantle from Nancy Pelosi and has maintained her lightning pace of lies without conscience to con people out of their money. How does he sleep at night?
Jeffries, leader of the Democrats in the House, send out an endless stream of fundraising emails that any decent human being would never be able to sign off on. But his job depends on conning people out of their hard-earned money, and politics on the left has no room for decent human beings.
“I’ll give it to you straight,” an email from last week opens. “First, I watched extreme MAGA Republicans take 15 rounds of votes to elect a Speaker of the House. Then, I watched them attempt to hold our economy hostage and trigger a job-killing recession.” That’s a strange way to describe the debt limit negotiations, but Hakeem wasn’t really a part of them, so he’s probably feeling a little like the guy who went stag to the prom because everyone said no.
He continues, “Now, I’m watching them fight each other instead of fighting for their constituents – even halting the People’s business in the People’s House. We need to put an end to this dysfunctional MAGA majority – so here’s my plan: If we can raise 68,500 gifts for the DCCC before midnight, we could demonstrate that Democrats are united and ready to take back the House For The People. I know we can show the strength of our grassroots movement, but only if we move quickly to put up a united front to retake the House majority. Can I count on your immediate $3 to the DCCC in this consequential moment for taking back the House?”
Always outrageous claims, entirely beyond the realm of possibility to the point that you’d have to be demented to believe it – which makes Democrats the exploiters of low IQ individuals – without any concern that maybe they’ve crossed a line and should have an attack of conscience. They don’t have one, so it can’t attack.
Exactly three days later, Hakeem was back with the “I’m done” declaration in the subject line. It starts, “I’m about to reveal what’s going on behind the scenes: FIRST: Extreme MAGA Republicans raised a recording-breaking $38 million to defeat us. THEN: They used that massive campaign war chest to attack 35 swing-seat Democrats. NOW: The latest polls show Team Extreme has taken the lead by a staggering FIVE points.” Seems like that $3 from a few days ago that was part of a “consequential moment for taking back the House” wasn’t so consequential after all, right?
“I know Republicans and their special interest donors think they can attack Democrats with vicious lies and turn voters against us so they can keep the House majority,” says a tool of the teachers’ unions. “I also know that we have what it takes to rise up and prove them absolutely wrong. That’s why I just launched a rapid-response fund to raise 15,500 gifts for the DCCC in the next 10 hours to outraise the House GOP’s mega-donors and help Democrats win back our majority. I’m relying on your donation to rush funds to critical races nationwide, counter Republican attacks and connect with the voters we need to win in every battleground district. Will you rush $3 to the DCCC to help me kick off this campaign operation, propel our House Democrats to victory and hand right-wing House GOP extremists a shocking defeat?”
Three days ago they were $3 away from victory, now they need another $3. Something tells me they’re going to be back begging for another $3 this week. It’s almost like it’s all a lie.
It ends with, “I’m calling on 15,500 supporters like you to chip in to the DCCC before midnight to help House Democrats regain our lead in the polls, withstand expensive attacks from Republicans and show we will not allow them to buy their way out of the humiliating defeat they have coming. Can I count on you to step up with $3 to the DCCC right now to reclaim the House majority For The People?”
Who do they think gave the House majority to Republicans? Aliens?
