Pathological Media Amnesia – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • Now, once again – where are these GAY Days celebrations everyone is clamoring to attend?!

This being June 1, it is the start of Pride Month, as companies all shift their corporate logos to a rainbow display and the virtue signaling will be reported on with full force. At the Associated Press, they felt this was a great time to poke a derisive finger at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and tout how his state is becoming inundated with gay folks as they intend to celebrate at the theme parks in the Orlando area.

*Record scratch sound effect*

Now, we are sorry, but – what was that again?! The event is referred to as "Gay Days," is that right? GAY Days?! This is curious to learn from the AP, considering that, for over a year, this news syndicate has been informing us that it would be, and eventually became, illegal to utter the G-word. What… has changed here, AP?

Democratic Custodial Services – NBC NEWS

Over the holiday weekend, there was heated interest as a Twitter parody account of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – @AOCPress – was found to be reinstated after being suspended by the platform back in 2019. NBC News covers this offensive activity, noting that the account has been highlighted by none other than Elon Musk himself, and he could even be manipulating searches so it ranks above the account of the New York politician.

It is presented as a possibly problematic action, but the article had to admit that the account certainly launched to a higher level when AOC herself began complaining about its existence. The account has nearly tripled its followers since she interacted with them. (Barbara Streisand might want to send a gift basket to D.C. out of gratitude.)

Both Kinds of Standards – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • It was just a gravity storm; there is no need to suggest anything else is in play.

President Biden was at the Air Force Academy today to give a commencement speech, and following his comments, he tripped and fell while on stage.

Gratefully, he appears no worse as a result, but it is being rather lightly covered in the media. Contrast this with the lengthy speculation and study applied to Donald Trump when he was walking cautiously down a slick ramp and when he was seen on tape drinking from a water bottle with two hands, said to have been a sign of heavily-diminished faculties.

Trump double-fisted a bottle of Dasani, and journalists called to invoke the 25th. But Biden seems to topple with a bit of frequency (falling off his bike while stationary and stumbling up the stairs of AF-1), and no one in the press dares question his functionality.

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – AXIOS

It is starting to feel like the press is operating as if they have a quota to fill regarding hit pieces on Ron DeSantis. How else to describe the litany of political hit-piece reports that come out, which feel as if they are weaker than herbal tea. The latest comes from Alex Thompson of Axios, and we are sorry, but our apathy is in no way quelled by this salacious report.

Just to add to the level of idiocy, Alex got this from the Trump camp, which not only belched out this accusation on Truth Social but went so far as to issue a press release of the message from Trump regarding this globally impactful information.

Low Octane Gas Lighting – MSNBC

  • You would think a man with such empirical wisdom would be aware of the broadcast record.

One of the best aspects about Joe Scarborough is that in listening to him talk of his career in Washington as a representative for Florida's 1st District, he was an exemplary politician, even as today his conservative bona fides are well concealed on "Morning Joe." In a discussion of the debt ceiling crisis taking place, Scar-Joe claimed during his years that he pulled Mark Meadows aside to slash the federal budget:

I told Meadows this twice while we were having lunch at the Capitol! I said, 'You have got to use your position to actually curb spending in Washington, D.C. It's out of control. Dude! You guys are spending too much money! Instead of doing all your stupid virtue signaling, you need to start focusing on spending.' But do you think he listened? No, he didn't listen.

Newsbusters pulled up the archives, however, and found clips of the former Republican where he was mewling about the programs that were being cut. Back in 2017, Scar-Joe was complaining about all of the slashes in spending taking place in order to bring down the budget, as he claims to have been in favor of doing:

It guts basic services, it slashes cancer research, it slashes health care for the poor, it slashes money for rural hospitals, it slashes money for rural hospice care, it slashes money for anything involving health care in rural America!

Reporting on the Mirror – FOX BUSINESS

  • Just when she was getting traction, too!

Across the news cycle, there were reports about how Lisa Kennedy Montgomery – hostess of the Fox Business show "Kennedy Nation" – had scorched Sunny Hostin of "The View."

It appears to be a case of too little, too late for the talker. At almost the same time, news came out that her show will be on for the final time Thursday evening, as Fox Business is canceling Kennedy. She will remain at Fox News as a frequent guest.
