“Those Christian Conservatives… they need to die. They need to get COVID and die.”
That’s what an 8th grade teacher in Colleyville, Texas, said to some fellow teachers recently. She was broadcasting her deep disdain for parents and their “conservative Christian crap.” Thankfully, her egregious attack on parents was exposed. She was put on administrative leave by her school district. The teacher resigned later that day.
While parents at her school are thankful she resigned, some are left wondering what else she may have said to their children or whether her contempt for a particular group of people may have impacted the grades of their children. Now parents of neighboring districts are concerned she may be hired at one of their schools. Some local parents are even emailing their superintendent and school board members asking them to not hire this teacher. Parents are terrified of these kinds of teachers — what I call Political Activist Educators — who take their activism out on their students. This is not just a Texas issue. This type of activism is happening in schools across America.
As a former teacher, I know there are good teachers in America. My children have had the benefit and blessing of some good teachers and coaches in their lives. Good teachers are a precious resource in the lives and futures of our children. Unfortunately, there are some teachers who make the choice to use their classrooms as a breeding ground for their own political agendas spurred on by their teachers’ union. These are the teachers who abandoned their role as educators to become Political Activist Educators.
The American classroom used to churn out confident students who could draw their own conclusions as teachers neutrally exposed them to differing sides of a topic. Things have changed in classrooms in America. Thankfully, a pandemic exposed it.

Political Activist Educators are opportunists who use their teacher platform to seduce our children into their political agenda. They use emotion, rhetoric, and even ridicule to provide one-sided viewpoints that often force students to comply. They have students watch mainstream news in class that is labeled “for kids,” yet parents cannot have access to it because it is only provided to schools.
Social media is filled with teachers who do not even try to hide their activism, sexual preference, and annoyance with parents who’ve been labeled “domestic terrorists” by the current White House administration. If you have not experienced “Teacher Tiktok” yet as a parent, it is not only revealing, but can be absolutely terrifying.
Education in America is in turmoil. Political Activist Educators have the loudest voices in education. Good teachers are drowned out by the activist teachers promoted by unions and the politicians they fund. Unions give millions to local school boards, county and state officials, and federal politicians across America.
Political Activist Educators have more of a focus on their political agenda instead of their students’ academic success. Our children are taking the brunt of their activism in the classroom. It creates a failed education system that seems to no longer value our children’s futures, but uses them as pawns in their political agenda. This leaves informed, outspoken parents baffled. The parents who do stand up for their children are being ridiculed, threatened, and dubbed “domestic terrorists” by teachers’ unions.
But there’s good news. Good teachers are working harder than ever to overcome issues created by Political Activist Educators and the distrust among parents in the education system. Parents can join a movement at For Kids & Country to help teachers leave their unions and free themselves from the political and fee-based bondage therein.
For Kids & Country provides dozens of school options, connections to grassroots groups around the country, and an “Adopt A Teacher” campaign that teaches citizens how to empower teachers to reject unions via a “Union Exit” program so we can restore our schools. Many good teachers who oppose activist education feel alone, so adopting teachers is a powerful way to encourage and support educators who are searching for a path to be freed from political influence forced upon them by so-called teachers’ unions.
Sadly, our children are the biggest losers in the current state of education in America. The hope for improvement comes from the wave of parents who are waking up, speaking up, and standing with good teachers to expose what is wrong and demand change.
