It’s no secret by this point what the current agenda of modern progressivism truly is: progressively controlling America and its citizens until they are powerless to fight back. It’s not about freedom or equality, most often what its supporters insist that it is or (if you’re feeling generous) what they mistakenly assume it to be. As Dinesh D’Souza points out in Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party, conservatives have a battle on their hands-- but a battle they can win.
The left is great at lying at everything. While pushing forth the racist New Deal policies, they managed to convince the entire black community to vote for them because, hey, at least the racists are throwing out their crumbs. While claiming to be the party of freedom and equality, they thrive on a base of divisive identity politics and horrific collectivism.
Conservatives, on the other hand, are fighting for the moral goods: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to succeed if you work hard enough to achieve your goals and freedom to enjoy your God-given rights. Why is this not resonating with the American people?
It’s in part due to the unfair policies of the left, but conservatives cannot simply hide in a corner and ignore the torch of revolutionary tradition they’ve been handed. Reaching out to moderates, exciting the base, improving ground game are all great, but they can no longer remain buzzwords to use during campaign season.
Dinesh D’Souza warns that once we lose America, we can never get her back. Once our freedoms are eroded to a point where we no longer care they’re being eroded and voted away our ability to stop it, we might as well throw in the towel. However, there are a few things to be done to stop our freedoms from being completely decimated, as they just may be during a Hillary Clinton administration.

Embrace Reaganism, the philosophy that guides many a modern conservative, and rightly so. Use this philosophy to show women, people of color, the LGBT community, that the Democrats don’t have their best interest at heart; that in fact, they are merely pawns in the leftist game.
Become politically involved, and engage your fellow citizens. Don’t sit and tacitly await your fate simply because “your candidate” didn’t win the nomination. Unfortunately, we don’t always get what we want, and we have to deal with the cards we’ve been given.
In 2016, and the years to come, that means being fearless in areas that would normally leave us unsure of how to act. That means encouraging our young people to continue to stand up for conservative principles in increasingly hostile classrooms and on sometimes dangerous college campuses. That means getting up to contribute to the old-fashioned ground game as a door-knocker, or spending time phone banking, or amplifying conservative principles in your day-to-day life to the best of your abilities.
That means recognizing the power that you, the American voter, have, and using it to play your role in continuing to fight against Hillary’s America.
