LONDON — Anti-monarchy group Republic says the British royal family costs taxpayers more than five times the official figure released by palace officials.

The group says the monarchy costs British taxpayers more than 200 million pounds ($320 million) annually. Official figures released last year claim the family used less than 40 million pounds of public funds.
