President Barack Obama, who has a tendency to stick himself into the middle of racially biased conflicts that are of essentially no importance, owes that courtesy to one that captured national headlines for nearly a week. In understanding the vital importance of genuine issues of equality in a post racial (a.k.a. "Obamian") age, he owes it to the NFL, DeMaurice Smith, Donovan McNabb, Jennifer Lopez, Serena Williams, Fergie, and Ja Rule to invite them, along with Rush Limbaugh, to come enjoy a beer on the White House lawn with he and that Vice President of his. Of course, given Biden's history of racist statements towards Indians, Pakistanis and even Obama, perhaps he could learn a thing or two.
Just imagine...
I mean if you thought that a Harvard professor and a Cambridge, Massachusetts cop looked awkward on the first go round...
The difference in such a summit this time might be the fact that President Obama just might have to say some not-so-nice things to some of those gathered around the table. Also, once it is revealed that the primary force behind the attack on Rush Limbaugh was in fact a former Obama campaign aide, and now high ranking official with the NFL Player's Association named DeMaurice Smith, the President would necessarily be forced to disassociate himself from him a la William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.
But one topic of conversation that would actually be helpful to everyone watching, for no doubt CNN and MSNBC would provide non-stop coverage (or make it up out of thin air) of it (or make it up out of thin air) as the most important event in human history, would be: "Why are openly racist, divisive, and vulgar people allowed to be owners in the NFL, while one other man who has no history of racism whatsoever is prevented from it?"
Obama's a law professor, and law professors love those kinds of questions.
But for the sake of argument let's be more specific (per Brietbart's Big Hollywood): why is Jennifer Lopez allowed to be a minority owner in the NFL (Miami Dolphins... figures) when she has said: “And the game done chose me to bring pain to niggas and p*ssy ho*s, they one in the same.”
Since Lopez actually penned those words as lyrics to a tune titled, "I'm Real," she's actually uttered those words hundreds of times, in front of thousands of people, who can all attest to the fact that she uttered them, in front of them and their kids. "Mega Producer" Ja Rule helped her record the song, performed in her video, and the two have taken the show in front of actual live audiences.
Lopez is part of an entire cadre of celebrity minority owners for the Miami Dolphins and they pretty much all have mouths their mothers' wouldn't kiss.
Limbaugh has been labeled as divisive, yet "musical" artist "Fergie" (minority owner for the Dolphins) sang this lyric, again in front of thousands of people as part of her stint as a Black-Eyed Pea going back all the to 2003: "Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism, But we still got terrorists here livin’, In the USA, the big CIA …A war is goin’ on but the reason’s undercover,The truth is kept secret, it’s swept under the rug"
Serena Williams, also a minority NFL owner (again Dolphins), dropped dozens of "f-bombs" in a partially race-based tirade in her most embarrassing moment at the U.S. Open, breaking several FCC laws in the process as well.
Perhaps though, when you're a huge Obama supporter like Fergie you can be as offensive as you wish, with no repercussions whatsoever.
She sang the song "Glamorous" at the White House for Easter--you know, the day that Christ rose from the dead?
“Wear them gold and diamond rings... I’m not clean, I’m not pristine... If you ain’t got no money take your broke a** home.” (repeat several dozen times)
And explain to me how Fergie's most famous tune of all can be seen as something that has any redemptive value:
"Whatcha gonna do with all that junk, All that junk inside your trunk, I’m a get get get get you drunk, Get you love drunk off my hump, My hump my hump my hump my hump my hump, My hump my hump my hump my lovely little lumps..."
Meanwhile what was Rush Limbaugh's great crime against humanity, race, and decency?
For simply stating that Donovan McNabb has been given extra sensitive treatment by coaches over the years because of his role as one of the few black quarterbacks in the NFL.
This statement was not only factually true, it has been easily provable over the years.
This week, prominent retired NFL players who happen to be African American, as well as even liberal African American pundits have stated openly that the attack by Obama operatives inside the NFL to kill Rush's chances at ownership are the only racist actions that have been undertaken in this entire sad affair. And their strong feeling is that in doing so the end game will be to end free speech for conservatives across the board.
By way of response, Warren Ballantine and others from the militantly angry within the black community let loose with commands to return to "the porch." A clearly racist and degrading command, made even more intense by the use of it from one black man to another.
President Obama's election was supposedly this all-important, historical "thing" because it represented the truth that though there are racist people in America even yet today, the plague of racism will never again prevent a black man from rising to highest capacity of achievement.
Sadly now, the most disturbing form of discrimination appears to be a type of punishment meted out for those who oppose the policies of that man. And isn't that ironic given the fact that criticism from those that oppose him should be the loudest proof of total equality.
But Mr. President, if you had the mere courage that you pretend to be given by your supposed convictions, you could clear all this up.
