The future of the Republican Party depends on the Hispanic community. Their values, voices, and votes are key to expanding our majority and securing the future of President Trump’s America First agenda. My name is Mayra Flores, and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for Texas’ 28th Congressional District. As a Hispanic American from South Texas, I’m not running just to win a seat—I’m running to fight for the future of our country, with everything I’ve got.

In South Texas, we don’t just talk about faith, family, and hard work—we live it, and those values have been the foundation of my entire life, values I share with the people of TX-28. I’ve carried those into every fight, from hosting Hispanic roundtables with President Trump to speaking at rallies and fundraisers to ensure his victory this past November 2024. I promised him I’d work tirelessly to deliver unprecedented Hispanic support for his campaign—and we did. The Hispanic community was a cornerstone of President Trump’s coalition, reflecting the country he fought to represent and secured a mandate to lead. His win showed what’s possible when we show up for every American. Now, we must build on it.

That’s why I’m running for Congress in TX-28—a district we can flip in the midterms with the right message and the right candidate. President Trump won here in 2024, even as career politicians like Henry Cuellar clung to power through corruption instead of real service. In my last race in TX-34, I came within striking distance of victory. That district voted for Biden by over 15 points, yet we nearly won. In TX-28, the path to victory looks even better and far more realistic. Winning this race grows the Republican majority and helps secure President Trump’s America First agenda—not just for today, but for the future of our children and grandchildren.

The 2026 midterms may be the most critical of our lifetime. After the Biden Administration’s wreckage—on our borders, our economy, and our standing in the world—President Trump’s agenda needs a strong Congress to help finish the job. I’m running to be part of that team. That’s also why I’m stepping up as a Hispanic voice where the GOP isn’t traditionally heard or well represented. Right now, very few in Congress actively defend Trump’s message on Spanish-speaking networks. That’s a missed opportunity we simply can’t afford to ignore. If we want his vision—secure borders, thriving families, and economic opportunity—to reach every corner of this nation, we must meet people where they are. I’ll proudly and unapologetically defend President Trump’s vision in the spaces too long ignored or dismissed by the GOP.

CONSERVATISM

My experience in Congress taught me exactly what’s at stake. During my first stint there, I was pressured to vote with reelection in mind, not for what’s right. I refused. I’ve always put America First, and I’ll do it again in TX-28. This district deserves a fighter, not a placeholder. If we don’t win in 2026, we risk losing President Trump’s momentum and the MAGA movement’s hard-fought gains. His coalition—diverse, working-class, and patriotic—redefined the GOP for the better. But it won’t endure without continued effort, persistence, and action. We must keep making inroads with Hispanic voters, showing them our party fights for their families, their jobs, and their future—and America’s future as well. The support is there—I’ve seen it firsthand—and it’ll only grow if we build on what President Trump started.

The truth is stark and undeniable: the Republican Party has no future without the Hispanic community. They don’t need us to save them—they’re already leading the charge in so many ways. What we need is for them to keep the GOP alive and thriving through their passion, their work ethic, and their love of country. In TX-28, I’m running as a team player in a bigger fight—to grow our majority, protect the President’s legacy, and represent the voices who’ve too often been left out of the conversation in Washington.

The road to 2026 starts here, in South Texas, with a movement that looks like America itself. Together, we’ll win—not just for 2026, but for the America First future we’re building day by day. I’m all in. Will you join me?
