Townhall Was Right About the Gaza Hospital Explosion

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

We're doing our best over here at Townhall to deliver the information you expect from us on a timely basis, and I'll be honest, it gets a little more challenging when we're in a time of war, which we are with Israel and Hamas going at it every day.

They always talk about the "fog of war," that "it's hard to get the story straight, it's hard to exactly know what the truth is." Well, it's not that hard if you don't have a built-in bias, if you don't actually want a story to manifest in a certain direction because of your own political agenda. We saw this play out with that reported hospital strike by an "Israeli missile in Gaza."

Even a congresswoman amplified the story. It screwed up American foreign policy, with the president flying to the Middle East and having summits canceled because of this fake story. And look at how the legacy media covered it:

Hospital Strike Kills Hundreds – Washington Post

Blast at Gaza Hospital Kills Hundreds – The Wall Street Journal

Blast Kills Hundreds at Gaza Hospital – The New York Times

Was it a hospital strike? Did hundreds get killed? Well, that's how they covered the story.

But if you look at Townhall and the way we covered the story, we followed the facts, unlike the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the Washington Post:

Hundreds Killed by Islamic Jihad After Misfire Causes Explosion at Gaza City Hospital

How do you sort the truth from fiction? One way is to rely on us at Townhall. We go through the hard work of sorting through it for you.
