Welcome back to the "Stream of Kurtiousness!" I've been a conservative for 40 years, which means nothing to the people who were born after 9/11 and have decided they know everything. They've never listened to Rush Limbaugh or even heard of Andrew Breitbart. I say this because a law student in Nebraska went off on Dana Loesch over what conservatism means. Dana is an actual conservative who has stuck to her values for decades. Donald Trump has changed the definition of conservative and added pragmatic populist policies to his conservative base. He built a coalition of conservatives who grew tired of strict red lines and wanted a combination of economic policies that benefit them, even if some consider them handouts.
We are currently debating among the right about subsidies for stay-at-home parents. It's an intellectual debate, and we're better off having it. Meanwhile, this Nebraska student went off on Loesch, saying she doesn't understand conservative values because she doesn't support the subsidy proposal. The student inherited a life after Trump and doesn't understand how conservatism has changed and grown. We can argue about the policies, but attacking the messenger is totally out of line!
