Mr. President: Don't Back the Dhimmicrats!

Despite what you may think, Dhimmicrats are not Democrats. A dhimmicrat is a Western official who uses his position of power and influence to clear the pathway for the spread of shariah--the law they have in Saudi Arabia. Dhimmi is the Arabic word for the low status person--all non-Muslims--who live under sharia.

A good example of a dhimmicrat would be former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who has been a tireless advocate of Arabs against Israel. Another is the Right Rev. Rowan Williams, the Church of England’s Archbishop of Canterbury, who urged his fellow Britons to make room for shariah in that sceptre’d isle. Of course, the Prince of Wales ranks high among dhimmicrats. Prince Charles recently told an Oxford audience the world needed to adopt Islamic principles to save the planet from environmental degradation. The Prince knows a lot about degradation.

Here in America, we have two new recruits to the ranks of dhimmicrats. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently spoke out in favor of building a $100 million Islamic Center, including a mosque, at Ground Zero in Manhattan. Bloomberg’s remarks were strongly echoed by liberal Washington Post columnist, Richard Cohen. Both men see the building of a mosque within sight of the place where 3,000 Americans were murdered on 9/11 as a test of American tolerance and openness.

It’s not. As Andy McCarthy writes: “The Ground Zero project is a test of America’s resolve to face down a civilizational jihad that aims, in the words of its leaders, to destroy us from within.” Andy McCarthy knows more about the aims of jihadists than the dhimmicrats do. He is the former federal prosecutor who put behind bars the blind sheikh who orchestrated the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center.

The man behind the plan to put a mosque at Ground Zero is Feisal Abdul Rauf. Rauf has a long history of involvement with jihadist front organizations. Initially, he called his project for Lower Manhattan the Cordoba Initiative. Historians of Islam point to Cordoba--in modern Spain--as a symbolic city for Muslims. It was there that they established their caliphate, the center of Muslim rule in the Mediterranean region. By calling it Cordoba, Rauf was telegraphing his intentions.

It’s too bad Mayor Bloomberg and columnist Cohen can’t read Morse code. Feisal Abdul Rauf has written a book whose American title is: What’s Right with Islam Is What’s Right with America. Sounds harmless. Even sounds patriotic. But Andy McCarthy has dug into the background of this book. For non-English speakers, as for example, in Muslim-majority Malaysia, the title of Rauf’s tome was: A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post 9/11. The American version of Rauf’s book is copyrighted by two outfits--the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT)--that McCarthy identifies as front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood, groups that have raised millions for the terrorist organization, Hamas.

Dawa describes how Islam is spread worldwide. Dawa is Arabic, but for Americans, it might well be translated “dagger.” For that is what Rauf is offering us, a dagger in the heart of America post 9/11.

Richard Cohen argues that conservatives are trying to beat up on a “minority group [that lacks] political power and thus [can be] safely demonized.” He must not have seen the full-page, four-color ad in his own newspaper several years ago. That ad showed Georgetown University’s center for Muslim-Christian Understanding. The center is Saudi-funded at some $10 million. In the ad, the Gothic spires of Georgetown are shown at night, beautifully lighted. The cross is shown atop one of the the buildings in this oldest of Catholic universities in America. But above that cross, in the night sky, we see an Islamic crescent moon and five-pointed star.

This is the “understanding” we must take from petro-dollar fueled infiltration by shariah-promoting Saudis. Harvard has a similar center, also funded liberally by Saudi money. Dean Elena Kagan fought fiercely against the U.S. military setting foot on Harvard’s campus, but she welcomed the Saudis setting up shop there.

President Obama: You need you to take a strong stance against any mosque at Ground Zero. You need you to defend us against this dawa--this dagger--in the heart of America. Your spokesman, Robert Gibbs, calls this “a local matter.” Hamas and Fatah in the West Bank did not consider the World Trade Center attacks a local matter. They fired off rifles into the air and gave candy to their children to celebrate the Twin Towers’ collapse.
