Where Do I Send My Money?

To get the country back on track, voters must break the back of the Democratic Party from north to south and from east to west.

With the primary season over and less than a month before balloting by absentee begins, a charged-up conservative base is very ready to walk, call, email and contribute to the cause of wresting control of Congress from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Effective activism can be channeled through many party and non-party groups, and there are scores of candidates eager for every $25, $50 and $100 contribution.

How then to most effectively deploy time, talent and treasure in this crucial season?

First, find one group to support with time spent on the phone, the computer or walking precincts.

If there is a Senate or House candidate with an office near you in a competitive race, then show up there and offer to work the phones on a regular schedule.

Even if you are far removed from such an operation or in a rural area or an overwhelmingly Democratic one, the new technology now allows anyone to run a virtual precinct from their own home. If you visit my website, HughHewitt.com, you will find there banners for Winning In November. This is my partnership with Americans for Prosperity which can convert your available time into effective advocacy for campaigns committed to slashing the size and scope of government. If you have any time between now and November, Winning In November can put it to great use.

What about dollar donations? Hopefully you are also willing to invest in candidates committed to the conservative agenda of slashing spending, repealing and replacing Obamacare, and stopping the biggest tax increase in history presently scheduled for January 1, 2011.

But budgets are tight and you cannot contribute to every candidate you would like to.

Here are some suggestions.

First, seek to send contributions to campaigns which will not only empower committed conservatives but which will also serve to support other conservatives. Some donations have multiplier effects because some candidates and their campaign operations are pumping up conservative turnout across a state where other conservatives are running.

Three examples/suggestions.

First, a contribution to Pennsylvania Senate candidate Pat Toomey not only helps this committed conservative win a tight race against a hard core lefty, it will also help build turnout that will assist four to six conservatives running in crucial Congressional races across the Keystone State. An online contribution to ToomeyforSenate.com has a huge multiplier effect.

So too do contributions to John Kasich's campaign for governor in Ohio --KasichforOhio.com--and Marco Rubio's Senate campaign in Florida, MarcoRubio.com. There are other such campaigns, but dollars sent to these three statewide races are also working to unseat Nancy Pelosi in very real ways.

Then there are a handful of campaigns where leftist special interests have gathered to prop up one of their key D.C. power brokers. The most obvious of these races is the desperate attempt by Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid to hang on to his Nevada Senate seat. All of the powers in the left-wing universe are rallying to Harry's side which is why a contribution to GOP nominee Sharron Angle is so appealing to a conservative activist. Angle has been savaged by the left, but has stood up to the fusillade and is leading Reid in the most recent polling. It is definitely a cause worth supporting via SharronAngle.com.

So there are four key races to which your dollars can be directed with absolute certainty that they are being invested in freedom and behind committed conservatives. Please dig deep as this election represents a rare opportunity to roll back the left's long march into so many aspects of our government and our lives.
