Many of the people viciously attacking Stephen Moore in the press have never met him. I have.

I started a tea party group about 10 years ago in Illinois, back when Democrats used to deny they were socialists and comedians could make jokes. A lot has changed in modern politics in the last 10 years.

My interests were in politics first, and economics second. Economics just seemed like a bunch of talk about money and spreadsheets designed to make your eyes glaze over. I believed this was true until I heard Steve Moore speak.

Steve brings free-market economic ideas alive for regular Americans. He cuts through the clutter and explains what drives the engine of the economy in a way that is both interesting and accessible. His positive energy and fresh thinking keeps everyone in the audience interested.

Like President Trump, Steve Moore is optimistic about America’s future. He believes our country’s best days are ahead of her. His pro-growth economic ideas were a breath of fresh air after eight years of President Obama.

Obama believed we had to “spread the wealth around.” He wanted everyone to settle for the same tiny piece of the economic pie. Stephen Moore believes in another way. He says, “let’s get a bigger pie.”

Free-market economists like Stephen Moore believe growth is a rising tide that lifts all boats. If Americans are left free to create, earn, and consume, the pie will get bigger so long as government stays out of the way.

That is the bold, American vision that inspired millions of hard-working Americans to vote for Donald Trump, including women. In fact, women have been some of the biggest beneficiaries of Trump’s pro-growth economic policies.

There are more women in the workforce than ever before. Of the 2.8 million new jobs created since January 2018, 1.6 million (58.3 percent) went to women, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Women’s unemployment is down to 3.8 percent, less than half of what it was 10 years ago.

Women are more likely than men to have a college degree, and female entrepreneurship is on the rise. The number of women-owned businesses grew by 114% from 1997-2017, far outpacing the general national growth rate of 44 percent.

These are the outcomes of Donald Trump and Steve Moore’s ideas. Prosperity for all is the cornerstone of what Steve Moore has championed his entire career. Women everywhere should be calling their senator and urging them to support a Stephen Moore Fed Board nomination.

It’s no secret that Democrats hate Steve Moore, but it has nothing to do with him personally. The truth is, they are trying to disrupt the Donald Trump administration at every chance they get. This week, Steve Moore just happens to be in the way.

To Democrats, this isn’t about ideas, or the best interest of the country. It’s about sabotage.

I’ve run into Steve a few times since I first met him, including at an event we hosted at my local tea party group just this past week. More than 300 people showed up to hear him speak. At every encounter, Steve was kind, respectful, and a good listener. He genuinely cares about what people have to say.

Like his economic presentations, I have no doubt Steve Moore will cut through the clutter of this nasty political smear campaign against him, preserve his cheerful optimism, take his seat on Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and get to work.
