This week's Bible study is adapted from the Bible Studies for Life: LifeTruths curriculum.

Bible Passages: Matthew 1:18-20, 24-25; Luke 1:28-31, 34-38

Discussion Questions:

-- Why do you choose to trust God when He doesn't seem to make any sense?

-- How have you found God to be trustworthy even in the difficult times?

Food for Thought:

"Soul Surfer" tells the true story of Bethany Hamilton who at age 13 lost her left arm in a shark attack on Oct. 31, 2003, in Kauai, Hawaii. In the two years prior to the attack, Bethany had climbed through the amateur rankings after winning several events. Though Bethany lost an arm, she never lost her faith. She was back on her surfboard only a month after her accident. She now competes as a professional surfer and is also a motivational speaker who credits God with her success.

We face struggles every day. Those difficulties may be physical, emotional, financial or spiritual, but we must rely on God in each circumstance even if our struggle makes absolutely no sense at the time. Ultimately, our dependence on Him will be used for His glory.
