It will be the first postseason football game hosted at Campbellsville since the first round of the 2001 NAIA playoffs. It's the program's fifth postseason appearance overall.
"The National Christian College Athletic Association does an excellent job in providing quality experiences for our student-athletes in the postseason," said Rusty Hollingsworth, Campbellsville's athletic director. "We are glad to be associated with athletic programs in the NCCAA that honor Christ through athletic competition."
Campbellsville enters the game with a 6-5 record, while Greenville is 7-3. Campbellsville lost last year's Victory Bowl 42-16 at North Greenville University. The Crusaders are coached by Perry Thomas, in his fourth season with Campbellsville.
"I think it's a growth for our program once again," Thomas said of his team's Victory Bowl berth. "We're becoming consistent postseason performers. I think that's huge, not only for our recruits, but for the stability and tradition of the program."
Prior to the game, on Nov. 18, players from both teams were slated to team up for community service projects in the Campbellsville area, with 12 groups of players and coaches visiting local elementary and middle schools to read to students and talk about character and playing sports with a Christian attitude.
Teams also will volunteer at the Taylor County Crisis Relief Center and Food Pantry, The Healing Place and Bluegrass Assisted Living.
Greenville College, located in Greenville, Ill., is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church and has an enrollment of about 1,600.
Participants in the Victory Bowl are the top two teams in NCCAA football that didn't qualify for the playoffs in NAIA or NCAA competition. An NCCAA committee selects the two teams based on record and a computer rating system.
