ALBANY, Ga. (BP) -- The church-made film "Courageous," which remains the top-rated fan film on one major movie ticketing website, will open in about 80 new cities this weekend.

After opening at No. 4 on opening weekend, Courageous stayed in the Top 10 during its next two weekends, despite playing in less than half of the theaters as most other films. Last weekend -- its third weekend -- it actually beat a new film, Fox's "The Big Year," which had a $57 million budget and finished No. 9, one sport behind Courageous, which had a $1 million budget.

Courageous is the top-rated fan-rated film on Fandango.com, a leading ticketing website. It also is one of just four movies this year to receive an A+ exit poll score from viewers in CinemaScore ratings.

The movie follows the story of five men -- four of them police officers -- as they seek to become better fathers.
