ALBANY, Ga. (BP)--"Courageous" won't be released in theaters until Sept. 30, but it's already appearing in the Top 5 in tickets sales for all movies.

The film, from the creators of "Fireproof" and "Facing the Giants," was No. 4 in ticket sales Wednesday morning according to Fandango.com, a leading movie ticketing website. The fact that Courageous made the Top 5 at all is impressive considering it will open in only 900 theaters. By contrast, the top movie on the Fandango.com list -- "Lion King" (in 3D) -- is showing in about 2,300 theaters.

Fans of Courageous have rated the move a "Must Go!" on Fandango.com.

Courageous ticket sales have received a major boost from churches that buy hundreds of tickets at a time -- enough for an entire showing.

With a police force as the film's backdrop, the movie follows the story of five men as they seek to become better fathers. Most reviewers who have seen Courageous are calling it the best film yet from Sherwood Baptist Church, which made Fireproof and Facing the Giants. The church is located in Albany, Ga.
