The ECPA has conducted it Christian Book Awards (formerly known as Gold Medallion) since 1978. Five finalists are selected through the judging process in each of six categories: Bibles, Fiction, Children, Inspiration, Bible Reference, Non-Fiction. The Christian Book Awards are the oldest and among the most prestigious in the religious publishing industry.

"Receiving this award is satisfying because it helps validate the many years of hard work and commitment to excellence that produced such a fine study Bible," said Selma Wilson, LifeWay vice president for the B&H Publishing Group. "I congratulate our team for their achievement and pray that the HCSB Study Bible strengthens and blesses generations to come in their study of God's Word."

The Holman Christian Standard Bible, released in 2004, is considered among the most accurate translations of God's Word. B&H published the HCSB Study Bible last year to take readers deeper into their journey of faith and strengthen their biblical literacy.

Jeremy Howard, managing acquisitions editor of Bibles, reference books and commentaries at B&H, led the creation of the HCSB Study Bible.

"The HCSB Study Bible is made for both those who are new to the faith and seasoned scholars," Howard said, noting that timelines, word studies, photos, maps, reconstructions and charts make it a viable Bible for the visual age.

B&H recently launched a beta version of MyStudyBible.com for Web users to interact with the HCSB Study Bible content online.

The ECPA is an international nonprofit trade organization comprised of more than 150 member companies that are involved in the publishing and distribution of Christian content worldwide.
