Government Inclusivity

Both mainstream political parties today are hijacked by a top down mindset. We see this model most clearly in Democrat- plagued blue states and in the current administration, although it lurks beneath the surface in the Republican party as well. Given the opportunity to abandon “appearance’s sake,” most of today’s establishment government types wouldn’t even bother to pay lip service to grassroots efforts or engage the general public. This infuriating mindset is why this country finds itself in failure.

My opponent, Zoe Lofgren, in my congressional race represents everything that has gone wrong with American politics. She is establishment and top-down rule. Help me and all the other grassroots conservative candidates retire this phase of our nation’s history and usher in a grassroots American Revival.

America cannot go on like this, and it won’t. The grassroots conservative sentiment across the nation has ignited a We The People fire, and both mainstream political parties are in for a serious hammering.

While egregious policies created by the left are so obviously disastrous, people across the political spectrum hunger for truth, and a revival of the nation. Most traditional Democrat voters are sickened at what their party has done, and are ready to consider another affiliation. Many Republican voters feel abandoned as well, having watched their Republican elected officials walk in lock–step with the Democrats to perpetuate big government. Parents in general have been drafted into the war of political engagement . The list goes on and on. These revitalized voters tell the party leadership, here I am, call me. Their eyes are focused, their hands ready for battle, and feet swift to move to the work of precinct walking. Yet they look and see no leader, an army without a general. So has been the patient suffering of these new colonies. The sunshine patriots have not shrunk back from their duty to serve and protect but find no support from party leadership. How many of these committed patriots ask openly, do they even know I exist? No, because top-down parties have left them for dead.

Bottom up leadership is what one might call actual “inclusive government.” It is incredibly appealing to the patriot. This is what the legacy government has ignored, that government starts with the people and builds up, rather than starting at the highest rung and trampling everyone underneath. The current pounding of endless top down government crushes involvement at the local level. A disengaged populace benefits only the people at the top. While both current political parties seemingly preserve nothing for the future, the We The People patriots are re-crafting politics for a sustainable America.

What does that look like? Candidates with the ability to serve beyond self-interest and self-enrichment. A succession plan, so to speak, where offices are easily relinquished for the next patriot to serve his term. Civic education must come back to the forefront of our communities. Placing the government as close to the local communities as possible. How many Americans currently cannot list off the names of their representatives or have no understanding of the levels of government jurisdiction over them, or have ever read the Constitution? An ignorant populace is just as dangerous as the legacy bureaucrat.

If the current mainstream parties had an interest in inclusive government or a sustainable future for themselves, they would support and encourage all candidates under their banner rather than prop up only the ones that tow the exact party line. These parties would also stop using and abusing certain demographics. If the Democrats actually cared about respecting personal choices they would shut up about LGBTQ topics (how disingenuous does it get to showcase someone purely based on their lifestyle….apparently Democrats abandoned that part about staying out of people’s bedrooms). And if the Republicans cared about fostering a future for their party, they would communicate conservatism accurately to the Hispanic communities and draw in millions of like-minded voters (and not leave Latinos to be taken advantage of by vote-greedy Democrats).

Government is like a baby, as Ronald Reagan once said, “an elementary canal, with an appetite at one end, and no sense of responsibility at the other.” Self interest is the sin of humanity and the founders resolved to slow down its harm. I am fighting against this self-interested, top-down, appetite for power legacy government. Help me and all the other grassroots conservative candidates retire this phase of our nation’s history and usher in a grassroots American Revival.

Peter Hernandez is a first generation Mexican-American, born and raised in San Benito County, California, by parents who worked the fields, and he grew up in the agricultural community. His parents instilled in him a strong work ethic, a love for God, and a deep respect for the American Dream and American Exceptionalism. As a small business owner today, Peter understands firsthand how inflation, over-regulation and burdensome taxes are killing the middle class economy. As a Latino man, Peter is dedicated to encouraging Hispanic families in the civic and electoral process, and looks forward to serving as their voice and representative in US Congress. Peter currently holds of ice as a County Supervisor for San Benito County. During the oppressive California pandemic shutdowns, Peter stood against the overreaches of the Administrative State, and fought to keep businesses open, believing the local communities should decide for themselves how to best care for and protect their constituents. Peter is an America First candidate who stands against the harmful progressive policies of the Biden administration and the current Democrat Congress. He will fight to: RENEW the rule of law; RESTORE strong families and parental rights; REVIVE the middle class and small businesses. www.hernandezforcongress.com
