New footage has emerged of a staffer on the James Talarico U.S. Senate campaign shutting off the phone of an event attendee who attempted to ask the candidate about his recent election fraud scandal.

In the video, the attendee is greeted by Talarico as he begins to ask “how come you committed voter fraud.” A female staffer immediately steps between the two and takes the phone from the attendee’s hands and stops the recording.

The attendee later explained on social media that the Talarico staffer grabbed his wrist and then pressed the power button of the phone. The attendee was then kicked out of the venue, all while Talarico watched and smiled.

Talarico has been accused of committing voter fraud after he reportedly voted in five elections while registered at the home of his parents despite owning a home himself. ProPublica claims that Talarico was registered to vote at his parents' home in November of 2021. He then purchased his own home in June of 2022, but did not update his voter registration until September of 2024.

Talarico has also been accused of violating Texas election law by filing to represent a State House district despite having lived in the district less than one year preceding the election. The Texas State Constitution requires candidates to have maintained residency in the district they wish to represent for one year prior to their election date.

As the deadline to withdraw his candidacy looms, Talarico’s controversies continue to grow in number. Along with an apparent assault on an event attendee and the alleged voter fraud, Talarico is now confirmed to have been dating a woman who was actively on his staff when the relationship began.
