Obama owns housing bubble crisis
But voters, in general, do not believe it. And Bush should have used the bully pulpit when he had a chance.

r729 you've got me and the point wrong
First of all I don't get my news from TV and second I am not a democrat. I am and have been McCain supporter for a long time and am not about to stop now. Yes, I believe that I have it right, because these are how things happened, not because I said so. What Amanda said was true to a point, but what she didn't include was the real story. Go look at the records and you will see that John took ten times as much money from Freddie Mac as Obama did, that's what politicians do! Go to the federal election commission's [www.fec.gov] website and follow the directions you will find that I am correct: I would have given you the complete URL but since you think I believe I am smarter than you, I will give you the opportunity to prove I am not. Freddie Macs lobbyists offered McCain that money (more money) because they consider him the best candidate (he is) and the most likely to win (we will have problems if he does not). As far a partisan politics blocking any possibility of reform, I can only say you have much more faith in the two party system than I do: I believe first and foremost most career politicians protect their own "phony, bologna jobs" first to quote Gov. Larsen E. Pettifogger. That is precisely why I support John McCain: he is and has always been the real deal. Nonetheless, I do not think he walks on water and I consider anyone who thinks he does needs serious counseling: only one Man ever passed that test. That is the problem I have with Amanda and many of the members of the conservative press (yes, we have one too) and their pundits in that many of them are intellectually dishonest. There is a common misconception that anything that is said about anyone must be based upon their political leanings then becomes a direct reflection of their character, i.e., if I agree with them politically then they can do no wrong and conversely, if I disagree with them politically then they can do no right. We are all human with feet of clay and we should be above such parochial distinctions. Conservatism as a political doctrine does not need perfect people to make it work, socialism does! Since there are no perfect people, conservative political philosophy is superior. That is not to say a bad person who espouses the conservative agenda cannot do great damage, but unscrupulous people have always been the bane of good government and John McCain has made many political enemies in his career by calling such people out. Our system of government has very seldom offered us the best man for the job, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to vote for one, to vote for John McCain.

I also have to add this, next time you judge someone and find them wanting, at least ask the correct questions to determine who the h*** they really are and what they believe before you attack, or do you consider that to be too much trouble?

Regulation
Democrats scream that the Republican zeal to deregulate America's economy is responsible for the latest economic downturn. However, if the facts are examined honestly, it was the Democrats who refused to allow appropriate regulation of their favorite big government enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They believed that they could utilize these firms to appropriate the American Dream to those who had no income, jobs, or credit documentation. Many Americans were disturbed to receive credit offers in the mail that seemed outrageous fueled by the Greenspan "easy money" irrational interest rate debacle and openly wondered when the latest house of cards would come crashing down. These entities need to be broken up and privatized once and for all. Government intrusion into the market always results in poor results. Perhaps next, we can visit upon their educational support that has driven the price of college up for decades while college endowments explode. Americans should demand accountability for this explicit political malfeasance at the polling place in November to reject those involved in the Fannie/Freddie slush fund and force them to find another line of work whether they are Republican or Democrat.

Obama took $/led nothing
I'm sure there's tons of blame to go around, but nobody should doubt that Obama is in the center of it all. He took money and led nothing to fix it. In fact, he has never worked in a bipartisan manner on any significant reform. The same can not be said about John McCain.
