North Carolina Gov. Concedes Election

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) has conceded the election to his opponent, Democratic challenger Roy Cooper. McCrory had pushed for a recount in the very close election, but it became clear that he was not going to be able to gain enough votes to secure reelection.

In a video released on Gov. McCrory's YouTube page, he conceded defeat and promised to support the transition team.

This is the closest gubernatorial race in modern North Carolina history.
