Hey Democrats – Barack doesn’t hate you, really.

Barack just “isn’t that into you,” that’s all. In fact, our forty-fourth President of the United States really isn’t “that into” any of us lowly American citizens, so much as he’s into his own power and control and his presence on the global stage.

Don’t waste time taking personal umbrage at the destruction that he's currently bringing upon of your party. Better yet, wake up and realize that your naïve, child-like allegiance to this one-time “charming” public figure has empowered a self-serving force in our country, the likes of which we have never known before.

Then do some reading and studying – learn a few basic things about history, and economics. See how history demonstrates that concentrating increasing amounts of economic power in the hands of politicians and government bureaucrats, produces less prosperity for all, and not more.

I’ve been fascinated to observe how congressional Democrats are reacting to their present circumstances in light of the American voters’ rebuke of the Obama agenda, and the even more visceral rebuke of the Congress itself. To this end, I especially appreciated last week's article from the Thursday, July 15th edition of “The Washington Post,” the headline of which read “House Democrats Hit Boiling Point Over Perceived Lack Of White House Support.”

The article noted that “in recent weeks, a widespread belief has taken hold among Democratic House members that they have dutifully gone along with the White House on politically risky issues -- including the stimulus plan, the health-care overhaul and climate change -- without seeing much, if anything, in return.” This suggests that House Democrats have been “dutifully going along” with Obama’s unpopular agenda, thinking that there would actually be some sort of fruitful “return” – a “return” for themselves, yes, and for their constituents as well.

But why would congressional Democrats be thinking this? And why would they be thinking this in 2010?

A Thursday November 20, 2009 report in the Washington Post indicated that "growing discontent over the economy and frustration with efforts to speed its recovery boiled over Thursday on Capitol Hill in a wave of criticism, and outright anger directed at the Obama administration." In this article, it was also noted that "Episodes in both houses of Congress exposed the raw nerves of lawmakers flooded with stories of unemployment and economic hardship back home. They also underscored the stiff headwinds that the administration faces as it pushes to enact sweeping changes to the financial regulatory system while also trying to create jobs for ordinary Americans."

This is to say that congressional Democrats have at least twice reached the "boiling point" of anger over the lack of prosperity brought about by Obamanomics, in November of 2009, and now again in July of this year. Yet despite their anger, which apparently has been raging-on for at least eight months, the congressional majority has nonetheless chosen to follow their dear leader over a cliff.

In this calendar year, alone, the Obama Democrats have gone to the point of imperiling the nation, and their own re-elections, all for the sake of obeying Obama. The Obamacare bill; repeated renewals of unemployment benefits; a now, Obama's "financial system overhaul" bill that hands-over more control of the banking industry to Obama's Federal Reserve, and as of last Friday, sank the DOW some 200 points or so.

And consider just how pathetic the so-called "healthcare reform" bill really is. Buried in its details are a federal government take-over of the student loan industry (as though "student loans" has anything to do with healthcare); it raises taxes on, of all things, wheel chair purchases (Obama's idea of "compassion" for disabled?); it is so fabulous that Obama provided “exemptions” from the bill’s mandates to the White House and congressional staff who helped write it, and to organized members of the United Auto Workers Union; and individual states are spending their precious-few tax revenues filing law suits to safeguard their residents from the implementation of the bill.

And now, apparently, congressional Democrats are dismayed that Obama doesn't have a "plan," or "sufficient support," to get them re-elected.

Sorry Democrats, but you should have known better. History shows us that this is the way selfish, thuggish, big-government works. Obama had his way with you, and now he's moved on. I hope you go back and learn some things about history and economics. But for now, you have shown yourselves unworthy to lead.
