Re: Are Republicans Wise to Blame Pelosi?

In a word, NO.

Anyone who says his (or her) vote was changed by a ridiculous speech by, frankly, someone who's known to be a more-than-slightly-ridiculous politician is essentially admitting that inside-the-beltway antics played a greater role in his/her thinking than his/her assessment of what's best for the country.

I'm concerned about the ramifications of this vote, as I noted below, but I can respect any member -- who's knowledgeable about the economy and aware of the risks involved, that is -- who opposed the bill on its merits.  I can't respect someone who puts Nancy Pelosi's words above a sense of where his/her duty lies.
