The woman may no longer wield the gavel, but she hasn't lost her knack for bludgeoning the truth beyond all recognition:
"If we hadn't done healthcare*, if we hadn't done Wall Street reform, and the rest of it...we still would have lost the election because we had 9.5% unemployment. Let's take it where that came from: The policies of George W. Bush."
So introspective and "brutally harsh" in her self criticism is the former Speaker that she's thoroughly convinced that her leadership and agenda played absolutely no role whatsoever in Democrats' electoral punishment in November. Psychologists need to roll up their sleeves and go to work because "denial" and "blame shift" don't even come close to capturing Pelosi's affliction. It's precisely this sort of warped mindset that leads people to do truly insane things.
*Pelosi may still cling to the delusion that Americans didn't vote against Obamacare last year, but Chuck Schumer knows what's what.
