A lot of campaigns -- even ones taking place in big cities -- instruct young staffers to be careful what they say at bars and restaurants. The obvious reason is that sensitive information could be easily overheard.

That Ed Rollins -- who has been around the block a time or two -- was careless enough to have this conversation in Iowa -- at a time when half the population consists of out-of-state reporters, is an example of carelessness run amok.

Kudos to Amanda for being at the right place at the right time.
