Biden Says He Finds Palin "Attractive"

Is it really customary for one party's vice presidential candidate to be commenting on the appearance of the other'ss? I'm just asking because Joe Biden has seen fit to inform us that he finds Sarah Palin "attractive."

Hm. Did George H.W. Bush offer an opinion on Geraldine Ferraro's looks? Or John Edwards on Dick Cheney's?

When did this become okay?
