With Bill Cassidy and Thomas Massie both seeing their exit from politics in the span of just a few days, will any of the subversive so-called Republicans finally come to understand that it is political suicide to cross Donald Trump?

Pretty shocking results out of Louisiana tonight: Sen. Bill Cassidy—a notorious RINO and Obamacare lover who voted to convict Trump during impeachment—will finish THIRD in the GOP primary and will not make it to the run-off. Good riddance! pic.twitter.com/z3dDiB9jfH

These aren’t the only significant losses for the coalition of anti-Trumpers who have come to wield so much power in state and federal offices. The Indiana Republicans who refused to redistrict despite Democrats flaunting their decision to strip away Republican seats will be without jobs come inauguration season.
Dan Crenshaw, who made an abysmal showing in his primary race, was the only incumbent in Texas to not receive Trump’s coveted endorsement. Sen. John Cornyn, who was touted as an extremely experienced senator but wasn’t able to get his cronies to advance the SAVE Act, is destined for the same fate this time next week.
As it turns out, being a do-nothing legislator or subverting the will of your party’s leader is a recipe for electoral failure in 2026. Many of these people had managed to slip through the cracks for years. Evidently, that era is over. Instead, they will join the likes of Mike Pence and be relegated to running do-nothing think tanks that no one cares about.
It won’t stop these people from throwing temper tantrums on the way out. Thom Tillis has proved to be one of the biggest babies in Congress since his retirement in the face of bleak electoral prospects. Cassidy is already voting against the Trump agenda. Massie jumped the gun and spent the last few months accusing Trump of being a part of the “Epstein class.”

At the end of the day, they are the ones out of a job. They are the ones out of power. They are the ones sitting on the sidelines as a new generation of leadership attempts to navigate the United States back into its proper place of prestige, power, identity, and culture.
