In the aftermath of the 2024 election, The New York Times published a lengthy piece analyzing why Vice President Kamala Harris lost.
The issue of transgender ideology was one of the reasons why.
As Townhall covered, Harris’ stance on transgender issues, highlighted by Trump, made her “look like a lightweight” and “unserious.” At one point, former President Bill Clinton told an associate, “We have to answer it and say we won’t do it,” regarding transgender surgeries for inmates.
The Harris campaign did not heed the former president’s advice. When Clinton brought it up to the campaign, they responded by claiming that the Trump ads were not making an impact. Obviously, this proved to be false.
Trump’s election victory signaled that Americans were tired of transgender ideology permeating every sector of society, among other things. In recent years, Democrats have pushed endlessly for transgender surgeries for kids, as well as allowing schools to socially transition children behind parents’ backs.
This week, a court in Missouri upheld a state law banning so-called “gender-affirming” health care for minors. This came after left-week transgender ideology fanatics pushed back against the law.
Wright County Circuit Judge Craig Carter wrote that there is “an almost total lack of consensus as to the medical ethics of adolescent gender dysphoria treatment.”
“Regarding the ethics of adolescent gender-affirming treatment, it would seem that the medical profession stands in the middle of an ethical minefield, with scant evidence to lead it out,” he wrote.
“I’m extremely proud of the thousands of hours my office put in to shine a light on the lack of evidence supporting these irreversible procedures,” Missouri’s Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey said in a statement. He referred to gender-affirming care for children as “child mutilation.”
At one point, Missouri was at the center of the debate about transgender surgeries for kids.
Last year, Jamie Reed, a former healthcare worker at the Washington University School of Medicine Pediatric Gender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital spoke out in a bombshell report in The Free Press about how “morally and medically appalling” “gender-affirming” health care is on young people, which Townhall covered.
In the report, Reed recounted her experience working as a case manager at the Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. There, Reed worked for four years and saw “around a thousand” young people who were struggling with their gender identity.
“I left the clinic in November of last year because I could no longer participate in what was happening there. By the time I departed, I was certain that the way the American medical system is treating these patients is the opposite of the promise we make to ‘do no harm.’ Instead, we are permanently harming the vulnerable patients in our care,” Reed wrote in her piece.
In addition, Reed claimed that “anyone who raised doubts [about the care] ran the risk of being called a transphobe.”
All in all, Reed said the experience felt like “building the plane while we are flying it.”
