Another Week: Border Patrol Arrests More Previously Deported Sex Offenders with 'Extensive History'

U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Wednesday that agents working in the Tucson sector have arrested two previously deported sex offenders with "extensive history," including sexual abuse of a minor.

"Tucson Sector agents apprehended 27-year-old Andres Lopez-Rosales near Amado, around midnight. Records checks revealed Lopez-Rosales was convicted of Sexual Battery in Washington County, Utah, in 2016. He received a sentence of 364 days in jail and 18 months probation," CBP released in a statement. "Around 4 a.m., agents patrolling the desert near Sasabe apprehended 29-year-old Ernesto Maldonado Alvarado. Records checks revealed Maldonado Alvarado has an extensive criminal history, including a conviction in Santa Clara County, California, for Sex with a Minor in 2014 and again in 2017. He received a sentence of 364 days in jail and three years probation for the first offense and two years imprisonment for the second."
