Yeah, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was in full-on Lindsey 2.0 mode, flatly saying he won’t read the Democratic depositions because the whole thing is “B.S.” This comes after U.S. Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland had a “oh, and another thing” moment yesterday, saying that the military aid to Ukraine was tied to a quid pro quo arrangement between the Trump White House and the Ukrainian political leadership regarding a corruption probe into Hunter Biden’s position at an energy company. The Trump-Ukraine impeachment allegation is that he was there to sell political access while his father, Joe, was serving as vice president.
Up until recently, this whole impeachment circus has been carried out in secret by House Democrats. All the interviews were held in the bunker, even Republicans on the committees would be allowed to read what Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and his goons gave them, which were summaries that could only be read in front of a Democratic staffer. It’s a coup. Period. The charges are ridiculous. There’s no solid evidence. And the evidence they do have, considering the actions from Democrats, is not believable. It’s as politically charged as it could get, so yes—no one who is a believer in fairness and the rule of law should take anything alleged serial leaker Schiff says (via Axios):
Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that he will not read any of the transcripts released Tuesday by the House committees conducting the impeachment inquiry, telling CBS News: '"I've written the whole process off. ... I think this is a bunch of B.S."
Why it matters: In a revision to his Oct. 17 testimony, U.S. Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland acknowledged that he told a Ukrainian official that the release of military aid to Ukraine would "likely not occur" unless President Volodymyr Zelensky announced an investigation into a gas company with ties to Joe Biden's son.
More Republicans in the Senate need to hold the line here. This is a Democratic political circus. Don’t believe it. They’re the enemy, their intentions are pernicious, and they will exploit conservatives’ affinity for principle and moral clarity. They’re the devil on your back. Ignore them.
