Liberal comedian Bill Maher -- last heard from openly rooting for a pain-causing recession, in hopes of driving Trump from office -- is in hot water with the 'woke' intersectional Left this week, having made a very elementary and accurate point about the anti-Semitic 'BDS' movement championed by Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. In a brief rant on his Friday evening HBO program, Maher noted how BDS apologists always seem to ignore or whitewash its fundamental bigotry, from its roots to its ongoing purpose. He also theorized, quite plausibly, that leftists often side with Palestinians over Jews based on the relative brownness of each group's skin color. He ended by dinging the media for omitting such unpleasantries from its coverage of BDS. In case you missed it:
Yep @billmaher. Exactly that.

"Somehow this side never gets presented in the American media, it's very odd," he concluded. Indeed. On Friday, I mentioned how virtually all of the investigatory heavy lifting into the wild radicalism of the organization that was going to sponsor the Squadsters' trip to "Palestine" was conducted by non-mainstream media figures and pro-Israel individuals. The press -- far more interested in making everything about Trump, playing up Democratic anger at Netanyahu, and running interference for Omar and Tlaib -- was asleep at the switch. Not until David French wrote this piece did some more honest journalists start highlighting the seedy underbelly of Miftah, the Squad members' would-be hosts:
Writing yesterday, the Washington Post said that “Omar and Tlaib’s trip to Jerusalem and the West Bank was planned by Miftah, a nonprofit organization headed by Palestinian lawmaker and longtime peace negotiator Hanan Ashrawi.” The New York Times described it as an organization “headed by a longtime Palestinian lawmaker.” In its editorial, the New York Times editorial board identified it as a group “that promotes ‘global awareness and knowledge of Palestinian realities.’” This is a whitewash. Thanks to a Twitter thread from the Washington Examiner’s Seth Mandel — who pointed to multiple additional sources — I started looking at the articles and views published on the Miftah website, and it was like peeling an onion of evil.
There was layer upon layer of vile anti-Semitism...It would and should be a national scandal if GOP congressmen intended to partner with white nationalists during a visit overseas. It should be a national scandal that members of the American government intended to partner with vicious anti-Semites on their own propaganda tour. After its thunderous denunciations of Bibi Netanyahu and Donald Trump, will pundits, editorial boards, and reporters take a look at the scandal hiding in plain sight? Will they hold Tlaib and Omar accountable for their vile associations?
Click through for all the sordid details that many in the press never bothered to dig into, or were willing to cover up. When Jake Tapper tweeted the story, he was immediately attacked by a prominent anti-Semite, angry that her preferred form of bigotry was being exposed:

For her part, Tlaib is doing what she does best: Claiming bogus victimhood and calling for boycotts, in the dumbest fathomable way. Boycott all the things:
Maybe folks should boycott his show.

I am tired of folks discrediting a form of speech that is centered on equality and freedom. This is exactly how they tried to discredit & stop the boycott to stand up against the apartheid in S. Africa. It didn't work then and it won't now. https://t.co/Oa49ZVfrVN
BDS is self-discrediting. It's the latest iteration of an ancient bigotry, to which Tlaib and her friends shamefully ascribe. Imagine looking at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and concluding that Israel is the problem. Not the terrorist organization, Hamas. Not the terror-rewarding Palestinian authority. And not the misogynistic and virulently anti-LGBT Palestinian culture, which has rejected virtually every peace offer ever extended, while refusing to acknowledge Israel's right to exist at all. Tlaib is one of BDS' clumsiest advocates, which is why she's actually a strategic asset to Israel. Netanyahu should permit this clown show full access; his nation will inevitably benefit from the Congresswomen's cartoonishly self-destructive tendencies. Speak of which, Tlaib's 'grandmother' stunt was an amusing and revealing fiasco, and then there's this:

Oof. Looks like both Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib shared this awful Carlos Latuff cartoon in Instagram stories yesterday. In 2006, Latuff came in second in Iran's International Holocaust Cartoon Contest, which is a thing that exists, in case you thought the TL couldn't get any worse. pic.twitter.com/uwyBPAsz7T

Surprise, Omar and Tlaib shared the work of a raging anti-Semite, who'd won a anti-Semitism contest organized by the Iranian regime. Go figure. Just another coincidental mistake, I'm sure. I'll leave you with this:
