Ocasio-Cortez Just Offered Some Advice To The Media...And CNN's Skin Should Be Crawling

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) doled out some media relations advice in the wake of the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings. Both are brutal incidents. El Paso is being politicized to the hilt since the shooter was some loser who penned a manifesto that was anti-immigrant, had ties to eco-terror and bashed Republicans. Still, Trump is being blamed because…anti-immigrant views never existed until Trump was elected president. That’s what’s being dished out here. My eyes cannot roll hard enough at these clowns. The Dayton shooter’s political convictions are being ironed because he was a leftist who supported Elizabeth Warren and gun control.

Well, AOC offered this tidbit that should be common sense, but also something that should send CNN into the bunker. The New York Democrat said that newsrooms should stop inviting neo-Nazis on their programming. It’s at this point that CNN ran for the hills (via Washington Examiner):

Ocasio-Cortez began the thread by saying that if she were in the business, she would "interview actual experts on white supremacy" and give them significant airtime so they can educate the public on the issue and how to spot it.

Her comments came days after 21 people died after a man opened fire inside an El Paso, Texas Walmart, while nine died hours later during a shooting in Dayton, Ohio. In the case of the El Paso shooting, the suspect reportedly penned an anti-immigrant manifesto ahead of the attack.

"If I were a journalist/worked in news, this is what I’d do rn: 1. Interview actual experts on white supremacy & give them space (more than 2mins or lines) to educate the public on WS, what to look for. Often. 2. Not frame white supremacy&racism as a 'conflict' or 'debate,'" she began.

Ocasio-Cortez also argued against letting neo-Nazis appear on networks "to buff their image or couch racism in 'reasonable'-seeming terms/appearance! Sounds obvious but it just happened." She went on to explain that they are "experts at manipulation."

Yeah, CNN gave a platform to white nationalist Richard Spencer, who has reportedly turned against Trump, which was probably the only reason why he was featured. It should also be noted that Trump is not a white nationalist/supremacist and never endorsed anything Spencer said or has advocated for because it’s racist garbage. But Spencer did support the president, infamously saying “Hail Trump” at a conference for these clowns after the 2016 election. Trump and his supporters were then held accountable over this in the liberal media’s attempt to paint all of us as racists. Spencer isn’t someone who should be admired, but he’s a citizen. He can support whomever he pleases. It really wasn’t a story, but here we are.

It’s been said ad nauseum but the Left will use anything to attack the president …even giving space for white nationalists to take a swipe at Trump because that’s where we are right now. It’s sad. It’s even sadder that CNN was all fluff when it came to Spencer, but came out bayonets fixed against a black pastor who refused to play along with host Don Lemon’s game of calling Trump a racist. This is CNN, everyone. Even AOC called them out, albeit unintentionally.
