Ocasio-Cortez Lashes Out At Media Outlets For Sharing Details Of Where She Lives

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) attacked media outlets for exposing details of the new apartment she'd recently bought in Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. She accuses them of putting her life in danger, since her name was discovered on a hit list compiled by white supremacist Christopher Hasson, who was arrested Feb. 15 on drug and gun charges.

The story she's referring to was posted to The Washington Free Beacon on Feb. 13, two days before Hasson's arrest. However, the article never mentions a specific street address or even the name of the building "due to safety concerns expressed by her office."

Whether Ocasio-Cortez's grievances are justified is questionable. Between the dates of Feb. 13 and Feb. 19, no major stories highlighting Hasson's arrest had been released to the public. Hasson hadn't even been given much of a public profile before a story by the Washington Post on Feb. 20th, the day before he was set to appear in court in Greenbelt, Maryland. There is no report that says Ocasio-Cortez was notified of these charges before the story broke out late last night.
