President Trump Signs $110 Billion Defense Agreement With Saudi Arabia

On the first day of his first foreign trip since taking office, President Trump signed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

“The package includes defense equipment and other support to help the Arab nation and the rest of the Gulf region again the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran terrorism,” according to the White House.

National Economic Council director Gary Cohn said the deal will bring jobs to the United States, as the Saudis are "going to hire US companies." The deal includes THAAD missile defense systems, tanks, cybersecurity technology, combat ships, armored personnel carriers, and radar and communications equipment.

In addition to providing tens of thousands of jobs to Americans, according to a White House estimate, the deal will allow the US military to "scale back its involvement in specific operations."
