Two American troops were killed in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday evening, the Pentagon announced on Thursday. The troops were in the area fighting ISIS. A third service member was wounded.
Nothing else has been released about the identity of the service members, but next-of-kin has been notified. According to Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, the U.S. is still "gathering details" as to what happened.

When a Green Beret was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month, the U.S. responded by dropping the Mother of All Bombs to destroy cave systems.
