President Donald Trump nominated Richard Grenell to represent the United States in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Wednesday.
Grenell is a Republican foreign affairs spokesman who served under John Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. He will be the highest-ranking openly gay member of the Trump administration.
