A 12-year veteran DC Metro cop has been arrested and charged with trying to assist ISIS.
The cop, identified as Nicholas Young of Fairfax, VA, thought he was communicating with genuine ISIS agents, but instead was talking to undercover members of the FBI. Young sent the agents codes for mobile gift cards he thought would be used by ISIS to communicate. He is reportedly a convert to Islam.
Young is the first law enforcement official to be arrested for terrorism-related charges. He has been under FBI surveillance since 2010.
