Religion of Peace: UK Muslim Convenience Store Owner Killed For Wishing People A Happy Easter

Hopefully, many of you had a safe and happy Easter last weekend. For one Muslim convenience store owner, wishing a Happy Easter on social media signed his death warrant. Asad Shah, 40, originally from Pakistan, was stabbed and his head stomped on when he posted “Upcoming special event – Good Friday and very Happy Easter especially to my beloved Christian nation X” on Facebook (via Telegraph):

A popular shopkeeper was stabbed to death by another Muslim in a "religiously prejudiced" attack hours after posting an Easter message on Facebook to "my beloved Christian nation".

Asad Shah, 40, a devout Muslim originally from the Pakistani city of Rabwah, had his head stamped on during a savage attack, according to one eyewitness.

In previous posts, he also called "unconditional real love for all mankind".

A police incident unit is stationed near the murder scene, while a body tent is visible.

Resident Isabella Graham, 64, said Mr Shah had previously employed her daughter at the shop. She said: "He was an amazing, wonderful man, he couldn't do enough for you. He wouldn't hurt anybody. Nobody in Shawlands would have a bad word to say about him. I can't believe he's gone."

Brothers Qaiser and Omar Khan told BBC Scotland they knew Mr Shah well and had repaired his cars in the past. They described him as "a humble, sweet person".

Omar Khan added: "I've known him since I was a wee boy so this is shocking news. He was a very straight-forward, humble person who was very good with his customers. He cared about his family a lot."

DailyMail had footage of the crime scene:

Prayers to Mr. Shah and his family, who seem willing to reach out to other members of the community, regardless of faith. By all accounts, he was a proud Pakistani Muslim, but one who loved Britain, which is why neighbors and friends alike described him as someone who emphasized the latter in how he lived his life in Scotland.
